Fundamentals of Developing a Water Quality Monitoring Plan

The workshop will cover surface water quality monitoring for (1) watershed characterization and (2) evaluation of water quality improvements and BMP effectiveness from implementation activities. Training topics include:

  • Data quality objectives
  • Identifying available data
  • Determining data gaps and needs
  • Monitoring plan development to meet data quality objectives and support modeling
  • Selecting monitoring types, locations, equipment and laboratory analysis
  • Obtaining stakeholder input
  • Developing QAPPs for monitoring and acquiring data
  • Workshop portion for collaboratively creating monitoring plans

The course registration fee is $150, which includes course materials and a certificate of completion.
